"Balanced" Plate

A “balanced” plate means eating from more than one food group. It’s about making 50% of your plate plant-based with fruits and vegetables, 25% with lean protein and another 25% with healthy grains. Look in your campus dining room for the daily “For Your Health” highlighted option or consider building your own plate using your favorites from the many choices available to you.

Special Diets, Food Allergies & Intolerances

If you have a food allergy or intolerance, it is important to learn about the choices you have when dining on campus and to ask questions when you have them.

Nutrition information for menu items, including common allergens, is available using the online nutrition calculator.

Registered Dietitan Visits

Look for monthly theme visits by a Registered Dietitian. Each month brings a new topic: eating healthfully while away at school, vegetarian nutrition, and eating for fitness are presented in an informal, lively style.

Wellness Tip of the Month

Focus on fruit! At breakfast, top your cereal with bananas or try fruit mixed with our low-fat yogurt.

Mindful Offering

Mindful offerings meet stringent nutritional criteria based on the Dietary Guidelines for Americans. Each meal part is limited in calories, has fewer than 30% of calories as fat, fewer than 10 % of calories as saturated fat, and is restricted in sodium, and cholesterol. Chefs in our test kitchen develop recipes to meet these criteria in delicious fashion! Look for the Mindful icon to indulge in the healthy and delicious items offered at each meal.
